Almah and its original score was commissioned by Parsons Dance for its 2015 - 2016 season as part of its initiative to support emerging choreographers, with private support from The O'Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation and with public funds from The National Endowment for the Arts and New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. This work was created, in part, at a NYSCA Long-Term Residency in New York State at PS21 in Chatham, NY.
